Mersey tidal barrage shelved over level of UK marine support

A £3.5bn ($5.6bn) tidal power scheme planned for Liverpool, UK, has been shelved by its developer, which says the incentives on offer to marine renewables would not persuade financial backers to overlook its high construction costs.
