This is IFC’s first investment in Peru’s power-generation sector, and participating banks in the B Loan Program include DnB NOR Bank, Nordea Bank, Société Générale, and WestLB.
SN Power won the right to build the $400m dam in October 2009. SN Power operates eight hydropower plants in Peru with a capacity of 273MW.
The money will go through the IFC’s A/B Loan Program, including up to $70m for its own account and up to $180m from international commercial banks.
