Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The prototype SR250 will be a 30-metre long, 250kw machine with twin rotors, each eight metres in diameter.

It is set to be manufactured in Belfast, Northern Ireland, before being deployed at the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney, Scotland.
