Scotland’s latest plans to hit net-zero have been slammed by trade unions and environmentalists who claim they fail to address one crucial element of the energy transition – green jobs.

Scottish environment secretary Roseanna Cunningham this week published an updated climate change plan to help achieve net-zero by 2045 which includes the launch of a £180m ($243m) emerging energy technologies fund to support development of hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and other emissions-cutting technologies over the next five years.
