US corporate wind and solar energy deals thus far in 2018 have set a single calendar-year record at 6.43GW, doubling the previous high of 3.22GW in 2015, fueled by high-volume Facebook, AT&T, Walmart, ExxonMobil and Microsoft transactions, according to the Business Renewables Center (BRC).

This year’s data was through last Friday. Arrangements involving publicly announced contracted capacity from corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs), green power purchases, green tariffs, and outright project ownership totaled 2.78GW in 2017, BRC’s Deal Tracker shows.
