Vivo, the Brazilian unit of Spanish telecoms group Telefonica, said it will reach its 100% renewable energy target in November.

Vivo’s measures are part of Telefonica’s commitment under the RE100 initiative, which sees the Spanish group aim for a 100% renewable supply by 2030, and to cut emissions by 50% by 2050.

In the past few years Vivo has been investing in rooftop solar, small hydro and more recently acquiring power in the non-regulated market.
