Japan’s Sony Corporation has joined The Climate Group-operated RE100 initiative, which will see the conglomerate use 100% renewable energy for all of its business sites by 2040.

RE100, which was established by non-governmental organisations The Climate Group and CDP, comprises over 140 companies worldwide committed to using 100% renewable electricity.

Under the initiative, Sony will expand the use of renewable energy beyond its European sites, which have already achieved 100% renewable electricity, to North America and China.
