Developers Invenergy, NextEra Energy, EDF and Avangrid came away some of the biggest winners in New York state’s most recent large-scale renewables solicitation, which awarded $1.5bn in financial support to nearly 1.7GW of onshore wind and solar projects that will be built by 2022.

Among the 20 winning projects are some of the largest ever developed in the eastern US, including Invenergy’s 290MW Canisteo wind project that will be built in the state’s Southern Tier region and NextEra’s 280MW Excelsior solar project in the Finger Lakes region.
