The Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA) – being formed through the merger of the country’s wind and solar industry bodies – has named Robert Hornung to the post of CEO.

Hornung, who has led the Canadian Wind Energy Association for the last 17 years, will take up the job on 1 July at the new organisation’s Ottawa head office.

CanRea, set up as a “multi-technology association providing a unified voice for solar energy, wind energy, and energy storage” in Canada, will work in national- and regional-level advocacy “to create conditions for a modern energy system that makes significant and positive contributions to Canada’s economy and clean energy future”.
