German economics and energy minister Peter Altmaier has proposed a 20-point plan to forge an alliance between society, the state and business to achieve climate neutrality, while simultaneously strengthening the economy.
The energy and renewables sector in a first reaction welcomed a commitment by the government for climate protection, but also said pending legislative and regulatory issues regarding solar and offshore wind power should be resolved fast instead of waiting for a lengthy cross-society compromise.
