Warnings have been sounded over disruption to power and emissions trading if the UK leaves the EU under a ‘no deal Brexit’ next year, after Britain’s government issued technical guidance for the energy sector on possible impacts.
The UK government’s guidance on electricity trading notes that EU energy law would no longer apply to Britain and its electricity markets will be decoupled from the Internal Energy Market after March 2019, if the two cannot agree future arrangements.
