Electric vehicle (EV) batteries and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology “could become a key component of global efforts to introduce more intermittent renewables to the global power mix”, according to a report by analyst Fitch Solutions.

The study, entitled EV Storage Key to Supporting Renewables Grid Integration, forecasts that there will be 17 million fully electric EVs on the road globally by 2027, with a further eight million plug-in hybrid vehicles.
