EDF Renewables North America, the California-based unit of France’s EDF group, has won a competitive procurement and signed PPAs for more than 300MW of solar capacity for the city of Jacksonville in Florida, in one of the largest renewables procurements by a US municipal utility.
Working through its Distributed Solutions division, EDF Renewables will build five solar arrays totalling 310MW(dc) across Jacksonville, Florida’s largest city, for community-owned utility JEA.
