Dutch utility Eneco will be sold via an auction process next year that is expected to attract big-name bidders.

Eneco – which is currently owned by 55 Dutch municipalities – is set to spur interest from large energy groups seeking to increase their renewables footprint, according to commentators in the Netherlands.

Compatriot Shell and French oil group Total are among the names cited as potential buyers of the company.
