China’s wind industry said it’s ready to install 50GW of new capacity a year, rising to at least 60GW after 2025 in a massive ramp-up pledge that some commentators described as “frenetic” but which sent shares of companies active in the sector soaring.

Some 400 wind industry delegates signed the Beijing Wind Energy Statement at the China Wind Power Summit 2020, laying down a marker for the government as it prepares to finalise its latest five-year energy plans that will determine the market’s trajectory until 2025.
