Brazil plans to contract power capacity for 2023 through 2027 via two annual tender programmes over the next three years, in a first indication that its newly-elected government plans to bolster the country’s 170GW installed base.
The Energy Ministry gave few details about the tenders other than that they will contract power from new plants four and six years ahead of their commercial start dates.
