Wind power hit new US milestones in 2019, becoming the nation’s largest source of new utility-scale generation capacity and number one provider of renewable electricity, according to latest figures from the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).

Wind captured an industry record 39% of the US’ total 23.3GW of new power plant installations, or 9.1GW, edging out natural gas at 36% or 8.4GW.
