A new fund set up by Denmark’s Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has reached a first close of $700m, with expectations of hitting a targeted $1bn inside the next nine months.

Cornerstone investors in the Copenhagen Infrastructure New Markets Fund 1 (CINMF1), launched to invest in renewable energy infrastructure in “major new economies” in Asia and Latin America, include PensionDanmark, Arbejdsmarkedets Tillægspension, Kommunal Landspensjonskasse and Lægernes Pension.
