Norwegian industrial group Aker could create a new company dedicated to renewable energy project investments, said its CEO, with floating wind the most likely first target.

Aker is looking to bolster the order books of beleaguered contractors Aker Solutions and Kvaerner in which it owns stakes – and which already both have footholds in the floating wind sector – as they battle downturns in their core oil and gas markets triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic.
