Brazilian developer Casa dos Ventos – owner of South America's largest wind pipeline – is pushing into the country's rapidly emerging solar and storage market, the company’s new business director Lucas Araripe told Recharge.

“We are looking at solar as complementary to wind and are also studying batteries,” Araripe said.

The strategic shift comes as Brazil's PV market is tipped to accelerate in the 2020s after a lackluster start, given excellent solar irradiation levels that top 1,600kWh per square metre per year in much of the country.
