Avacon Netz, a subsidiary of German utility E.ON, is launching a pilot project in the German town of Schopsdorf to raise hydrogen levels in its gas distribution pipeline system to 20% for the first time.
The joint project with the German gas and water association (DVGW) aims to show that it is feasible to blend hydrogen into natural gas grids at much higher rates than today.
