Wind and solar secured 1.2GW and 238MW respectively out of 4GW of new capacity contracted to bolster peak supplies in Colombia, suggesting they can compete with conventional sources in the country a week after its debut renewables-only auction was postponed.
Italy’s Enel Green Power was the big winner, with a total of 492MW of wind and 170MW of solar contracted.
