The UK slipped one place to eighth in Ernst & Young’s latest renewable energy country attractiveness index (RECAI) amid mounting uncertainty over the impact of Brexit on its power sector.

EY said renewables investment in the UK in the third quarter of this year was 46% lower at £2.2bn ($2.9bn) when compared to the same period in 2017. There were also few positives to be drawn from the UK government’s recent Budget, where there was little to encourage investment in renewables or low-carbon transport.
