South Korean president Moon Jae-in has unveiled an ambitious plan to build one of the world’s largest renewables clusters with a 4GW complex in Saemangeum, a 400 sq km area of reclaimed land in the Yellow Sea off the west coast of Korea’s North Jeolla province.

Under the plan, the South Korean government envisions completion of a 3GW floating PV cluster by 2022 and the establishment of an offshore wind farm of 1GW by 2026.
