Expansion of PV power in Germany could come close to a standstill very soon as it nears a cumulative generation capacity of 52GW above which support is capped, the country’s solar industry federation BSW has warned.

The warning from the solar industry comes as the German onshore wind sector faces its own policy-induced installation drop-off, adding to an intense debate over the pace of renewables expansion in Europe's largest economy, which has led the expansion of both sources on the continent.
