The global energy transition will reach a tipping point by 2035 to “usher in the age of renewables” driven by wind, solar and e-mobility, according to research group Wood Mackenzie.

The convergence of renewable generation and electrified transport will by that date – and possibly sooner – leave more than half of new power plants built as wind, solar or hybrids with storage, and over 50% of distance covered by road made in an electric vehicle, predicts Wood Mackenzie’s new report, Thinking global energy transitions.
