Brazil’s National Development Bank (BNDES) has announced a R$2.2bn ($570m) credit line for the acquisition of small, distributed generation (DG) solar and wind equipment, which could further boost an already booming sector.

BNDES will make available R$2bn for 10-year loans for small and medium-sized businesses and individuals to buy solar PV and wind equipment up to 375kW and 100kW in capacity respectively, as well as solar heating equipment.
