Companies and industry (C&I) today consume two thirds of the world's end-user electricity. On the current trajectory, the C&I sector demand for renewable energy will be 20% of electricity consumption by mid-century.

But, as International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena) calculations suggest, to achieve the 2016 Paris Agreement’s goal of keeping global temperature rise this century to below 2°C above pre-industrial levels , C&I should be covering 85% of their total electricity consumption with renewables by this date.
