Wind and solar power output should grow sevenfold by 2030 to achieve a reduction of 20.2 million tonnes of CO2 by 2030 in the Dutch energy sector, a roundtable of industry representatives suggested in broad findings released ahead of an updated climate agreement.

To achieve the cut, the share of renewables in the electricity sector needs to rise to three-quarters of overall consumption by 2030, the Dutch sustainable energy federation NVDE says.
