Brazil’s state-controlled oil and gas company Petrobras signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with French energy group Total and its renewables affiliate Total Eren to jointly study onshore wind and solar opportunities in Brazil.

The agreement, which is non-binding and has no deadlines, follows a strategic partnership in oil and gas exploration and development that the two companies signed in February 2018, and which they said has already shown “promising initial results”.
