UK offshore contractor Wood is leading a joint industry project (JIP) aimed at improving the offshore renewable energy sector’s knowledge and understanding of how cables behave in the marine environment and particularly on rocky seabeds.
The ‘Cability’ JIP group will include key industry players including EDF Energies Nouvelles, RTE, Naval Energies , VBMS, LDTravocean, Bardot Group, Silec Cable (General Cable) and DNV GL to develop a new set of industry guidelines for so-called “cable on-bottom stability”.
