Public acceptance of new transmission lines that support the build-out of renewables is one of the biggest problems facing the energy industry today.
The Renewables Grid Initiative (RGI), a Berlin-based non-profit organisation, was set up in 2009 to help tackle this problem. It campaigns to change the way that transmission lines and interconnectors are planned and built — with greater respect for local people and their environment.
