Euro-MPs back phase-out of priority dispatch for renewables

The European Parliament’s committee on industry, research & energy (ITRE) today approved changes to the EU’s electricity directive and regulation that are key parts of the European Commission’s Clean Energy Package.

The ITRE committee gave its green light to a phase-out of priority dispatch for wind farms that are commissioned from 2020 onwards. The priority dispatch so far has guaranteed renewables to be injected first into power grids.
