Danish turbine-maker Vestas is to take over US analytics specialist Utopus Insights for $100m, in a further strategic step in the OEM’s reinvention as a new energy solutions company.
The acquisition, expected to close on a debt and cash-free basis this quarter, will add a suite of of digital products, over 30 patents, and a team of data science researchers with expertise in analytics, power engineering, energy software development, and meteorology.
