An “extraordinary” 53GW PV installation boom in China pushed last year’s global clean energy investment total to $333.5bn and 3% past 2016’s level, according to closely-watched annual data from analyst Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF).
The Chinese solar additions – up from 30GW in 2016 – generated investment of $86.5bn, more than half the $160.8bn total spent on solar worldwide, said BNEF.
