Italy’s Enel scored a breakthrough in the US storage market, securing capacity storage agreements with California utility Pacific Gas & Electric for three utility-scale storage projects totaling 85MW/340MWh – more than half the capacity awarded.

PG&E, a major investor-owned utility that provides electricity to much of northern California, awarded 165MW of storage capacity spread across six projects. The other winners include Tesla, EDF Renewable Energy, and LS Power.
