Canada's Brookfield finalises acquisition of SunEdison's TerraForm Power

Canada’s Brookfield Renewable Partners (BRP) has closed on its acquisition of SunEdison yieldco TerraForm Power, sealing its transformation into a major solar player on the global stage in addition to its already sizeable hydro and wind portfolio.

BRP, among the world’s largest pure-play renewables generators through its hydro fleet across the Americas and Europe, has been pursuing both TerraForm vehicles since SunEdison’s bankruptcy, and finally secured a deal to acquire TerraForm Power earlier this year.
