China has held onto its top spot in Ernst & Young’s latest renewables attractiveness index rankings after overtaking the US earlier this year, while India’s second position in the top 40 countries looks increasingly precarious.
India has faced cancelled wind energy power purchase agreements and steep falls in tariffs bid in recent auctions, placing doubt over the country’s ability to reach its target of 100GW of solar PV by 2022, said EY.
