The UK government has named the founding universities that will form the Faraday Battery Institute, a new £65m ($86m) research body responsible for advancing the country’s status in battery research and technology.
UK business and energy secretary Greg Clark announced the consortium of seven universities that will form the institute, alongside industry partners and other academic institutions.
The universities involved are: Cambridge, Oxford, Newcastle, Southampton, Warwick, plus Imperial College and University College in London.
