Claude Turmes, the outspoken Luxembourgish Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and the body’s rapporteur for regulation on the governance of the Energy Union, told organisers he was “a bit sad and even angry” about Eurelectric’s study on the European Commission’s plan to limit participation in capacity markets to power plants emitting less than 550g of CO2 per kWh.
