A new energy infrastructure research platform is shedding light on the challenge of the smart integration and management of renewables. Energy Lab 2.0 is funded by the German government and the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg. The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and its project partners from the Helmholtz Association – the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and the Forschungszentrum Jülich – are using the lab to investigate complex interactions between the components of the future energy system.
