Norway’s Moss Maritime wants to be the “Ikea of floating solar power” and is working to develop an innovative technology with compatriot offshore energy giant Equinor that could be used for oil & gas operations, as well as other ‘blue economy’ projects, such as fish farms, needing “cleaner [power] options”.

The technology will be based on a concept developed in-house by Moss Maritime — which is 100% owned by Italian conctractor Saipem — that is designed for easy fabrication, transportation and installation at operations sites around the world.
