After boosting the fleet of wind turbines it maintains to almost 70GW with its Senvion acquisition, Siemens Gamesa wants to bolster the highly lucrative business and push further into servicing machines from rivals such as Vestas or GE, the OEM’s service chief told Recharge.

“The service business within Siemens Gamesa is a very strong business, it continues with a double-digit growth,” Mark Albenze, chief executive of the company’s service business, said in an interview after the manufacturer earlier this month completed the purchase of Senvion’s 9GW of European service assets and intellectual property.
