The OWTIS concept, the brainchild of W3GM, measures 194.5 metres in length, 38 metres in width and has an eight-metre draft. Its 4,500-square-metre deck, which has a capacity of more than 7,500 tonnes, is designed to transport and install turbines in batches of four, but can also be configured to handle six jackets or 12 sets of piles.
Huge as it is, however, it is the vessel’s turbine installation system that marks it as different.
