Bluerise, a company created at Delft University in the Netherlands, drew up the “Ecopark” project in the Caribbean island-nation.

It will begin with the installation of a deep-water pipe that will provide cold water for air-conditioning at the airport and for a 100kW closed-cycle OTEC pilot plant.

The plant will use surface-level seawater to warm a fluid with a low boiling point, such as ammonia, turning it into gas that will drive an electricity-producing turbine.
