The investment plan will be the World Bank’s largest commitment globally to a national solar programme, said a statement from the organisation, with backing that spans rooftop, utility-scale and transmission projects.
India is chasing an installed solar target of 100GW by 2022, up from about 7.6GW as of the end of May this year. But some analysts have suggested it will struggle to reach its target, given the massive financial inflow needed to support a build-out that also includes a 60GW wind power goal and huge requirements to upgrade its power infrastructure.
Indian
