Using 2013 as a sample year, it found that state renewable portfolio standards drove more than $20bn in economic activity, supported nearly 200,000 jobs, lowered water consumption by 27 billion gallons and generated about $7.4bn in health and other benefits by reducing CO2 and other toxic pollutants.
The report also found that renewable mandates saved consumers as much as $1.2bn from reduced wholesale electricity prices and another $1.3bn
