SolarWorld Industries America let go 186 people at its California factory after deciding to shutter it last autumn.
Those workers can access federal funding to be retrained and seek new jobs, including moving and living expenses. The Department of Labor (DOL) authorizes assistance when jobs are lost due to competition from foreign products.
It makes no determination on the legality of the imports.
