The installed system cost of utility-scale solar on fixed-tilt racking systems in 2010 was around $3.80/W, according to DOE estimates. By 2015, the average cost had fallen to $1.36/W, GTM says, and in the first half of 2016 it plunged further to $1.26/W.
GTM Research predicts the cost of such systems will continue downward to $1.11/W in 2017, $1.06/W in 2018, and $1.01/W
