Hemlock had made the compensation claims after SolarWorld refused to take silicon deliveries from a past “take or pay” contract.
SolarWorld says it will appeal against the ruling at the US Intermediate Court of Appeals, and expects those proceedings to take about a year.
The German PV manufacturer also says there are anti-trust concerns under European law regarding the supply contracts that are at the root of the long-standing dispute.
